I've been wanting to go to Bermuda since I moved back to the East Coast a few years ago and discovered that a flight to the island was only a couple of hours away.
I'd often see this flights online advertising cheap fares that would immediately make me dream of a subtropical paradise amid the calm, blue Atlantic.
Then the search for lodging would stop me.
A gabillion bucks for hotel. A few more for towels, taxes, fees and the like. Finally, I'm going to Bermuda today, but I'm getting around the pricey hotel part by renting an apartment (I'll let you know how it goes.) and I'm keeping the trip just short enough to return before I'm completely broke.
Pink sands, pastel cottages, British sensibilities, here I come. I'm also looking forward to some snorkeling, biking and helmet diving.
Unfortunately, I'm on my way to the airport and forgot my camera. Oh well, I'll do what I can. Wheels up!
